Sam Wallace

Recorded in just under a week in a Berkeley studio near San Francisco, what started as a playful collaboration between singer-songwriters Zane and Sam would later evolve into Chaplin & Wallace.

The six-track EP blends indie, R&B, and jazz influences into something both nostalgic and unmistakably current.

From its psychedelic-indie infused opener ("Take It All") to the theatrical jazz that follows ("Buying Or Selling"), the record makes a point of breaking with convention. Afterwards, it turns inward to storytelling ("Living Now / Crying Out", "Haight-Ashbury"), before erupting into hard rock for its penultimate track ("Strawberry Woman"). The project then closes with a flair for the anthemic ("Rose-Tinted Eyelids").

Rooted in alternative sensibilities, and making sense of a mad world through music, Chaplin & Wallace feels both timeless and right on time—music made with intention, introspection, and indie fun.
